Vicky's Fabulous Charity Garden Party

Back in January, I worked on a shoot with a fab range of people from the Teeside/North Yorkshire area, the shoot was organised by Vicky Trainor, owner of the Vintage Drawer, and Becky Mitchell, fellow photographer. I had a great time and met some great people there.

So when Vicky announced she was holding a charity garden party aka business networking event at her home in Redcar, I jumped at the chance to attend. The event raised money for The Holistic Cancer Centre at the James Cook University Hospital in Teeside. Around 35 lovely ladies donned their summery outfits and made their way to Vicky's beautiful house. Vicky's house is an art in itself, her studio is amazing!!!

The garden was all decked out in bunting, a gazebo and some lovely little tables. Everything was so beautifully decorated and thought out. There was a table creaking under the weight of so many generous donations of raffle prizes, and an equally full table of food and a whole cake table.

It was a great afternoon, and I caught up with some fellow business folk, including Jo Leversuch (Make Up By Jo), Debbie Stogden  (Photographer), Karen (Sweet Pea Events)

I also met some new faces, some who i've tweeted for a while and not yet met! Rachel (Little Darling Cake Company), Karen (King's Celebrant Services), Katy & Kirsty from Darling and Green Flowers.

The raffle was much anticipated, and people became rather competitive. Much laughs were had when some people won their own prizes, people supposed to be following Slimming World won a big cake, I won a bottle of brandy and I don't drink... I actually won two prizes (they let me swap the Brandy kindly!) A voucher for a handmade headband in the colour of my choice from What Katy Did Next  and a china trio from Mrs Leaney's Vintage China Hire.

Thank you so much to Vicky and her helpers for organising such a great event, and thank you to everyone who donated prizes and made cake etc. It was a great day to remember and a real treat.

Kylie & Peter's Intimate Wynyard Hall Wedding

It was such a pleasure to be part of Kylie & Peter's wedding, which took place at Durham Register Office, followed by drinks and an intimate dinner at Wynyard Hall. Eighteen guests attended, which consisted of close family and friends, and the couple had sent me a list of all their guests with a photograph of each person.

On the day, I'd remembered almost everyones' names and this caused great amusement when I was taking the group photographs, as no-one could understand why I knew what their name was. I made everyone laugh with this.

Their wedding had such a lovely family feel to the day, and on joining everyone at the register office before the ceremony, I quickly realised how much love and admiration the families have for Kylie and Peter as a couple. Tissues had to be handed out to every guest in attendance, and they nearly set me off too. Peter's sister did a very beautiful and emotional reading, and there was a group hug moment after this, aww :-)

After arriving at Wynyard Hall, we had some time to do the group and couple photographs, and avoided the rain. The sun did make an appearance too.

The Londonderry Room looked absolutely stunning, set up with a long table for all the guests to be seated together. The couple's choice of cream flowers went beautifully with the striking red and dark wood panelling of the room.

After the wedding Kylie and Peter went off to Mexico for a lovely two week honeymoon, which I did offer to photograph but they politely declined ;-)

Congratulations to the lovely Mr & Mrs Smith on your wedding, and lots of love to you and your families.
