Ellingham Hall Wedding Photography (Kirstin & Neil)

Kirstin & Neil planned a relaxed wedding at Ellingham Hall, near Alnwick in Northumberland last weekend. The venue welcomed guests to stay all weekend and enjoy themselves, and the couple & their family put in a huge effort to create a beautiful and fun wedding weekend for all.

Kirstin chose a Charlotte Balbier  wedding gown, and gorgeous TwoBirds bridesmaid dresses from YAP Bridal in Newcastle. I've only ever heard amazing things about the dresses & service at YAP Bridal and Jo the owner is a friend, so I knew their dresses would be amazing and they would be over the moon all around! Neil & his groomsmen wore burgundy suits and it all went so well together.

Kirstin carried a gorgeous white gypsophila bouquet with a hint of pink, and it featured a sentimental keepsake from her Grandparent's wedding.  Tracey from Campbells Flowers created this simple but elegant bouquet, and the bridesmaids bouquets, and the men wore gypsophila buttonholes.

For this wedding, I was assisted by Debbie Stogden who was a massive help all day, and a really fun person to have around. A particular highlight was when I said "Debbie can you just block out the sun" whilst handing her a reflector. She said "But i'm only 4ft something?".... Hilarious.

Kirstin & Neil are a lovely couple whose love and happiness for each other really shines thorough. They made their day really personal and thought of everything to look after their guests (Even flip flops for the evening so ladies could kick off their heels and have a dance!).

It was a pleasure to be there and I wish them an amazing mini-moon at Glastonbury (!!!)

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Johnson on their marriage!

Bolam Lake Belsay Pre-Wedding Photoshoot Helen & Luke

Helen & Luke are getting married later this year, and were keen to have a pre-wedding shoot with the view to getting rid of any in-front-of-camera nerves prior to their big day. They wanted their pre-wedding shoot to be relaxed and feature some woodland, so I suggested Bolam Lake, near to Belsay (Northumberland), which is somewhere I have wanted to shoot for a while, and lucky for me they loved the idea!  On the day itself it was quite overcast, and had been raining most of the day. I packed lots of brollies but we turned out not to need them at all. 

We had lots of giggles at various things, mostly the fact we were chased by swans and also re-enacting some scenes of the Blair Witch Project in the woods. I love it when we all get the giggles on a shoot, and it's fab when a couple can relax and be themselves and laugh at my craziness too. 

I'm also very honoured that they chose me to shoot their day, as Luke & Helen are a very creative and arty couple, with Helen having her own freelance illustration business, and Luke being into art photography and lomography. I take it as a massive compliment to be picked by designers/artists/creatives to handle the photography for their big day!!!

Thanks to Helen & Luke for a fab afternoon, can't wait for their wedding. I'm really pleased to have been able to help source a few things for their wedding as well, I'm always pleased to recommend fantastic suppliers to my couples.
