Druridge Bay Northumberland - Aurora Hunting - Starry Skies

So last night I headed out with a group of photographers to the Northumberland coast, in the hopes of catching the aurora borealis (Northern Lights) because of such a strong prediction in the media that they'd be around (See here) . I have never seen them before but always wanted to and hope to go to Iceland one day to see...

We got there about 9pm and stayed until after 2am(!) Unfortunately we didn't see any aurora activity but I did get the opportunity to photograph the starry Northumberland skies over Druridge Bay, which is one of my favourite beaches ever. I love the remote feeling of it, the historical war defences half-buried in the sand, and how peaceful it is there, even during summer. 

The photographs look like it was sunrise, but it's infact light pollution from the city! They were taken between about 10pm-1am approx.
