Bridal Gathering - Two fantastic wedding/event services to look out for!

On 7th November I attended Bridal Gathering at the Rainton Meadows Arena, and have just got around to writing my blog about it.

I went to meet Kim who is the lovely owner of The Fine and Funky Events Company . Her stuff is simply gorgeous, she has all sorts of unusual pieces that can add something unique to your wedding or other special event. If you are looking for something fun and different - you can hire the 'photo corner' which comes with a box of signs and funny props, a bespoke sign with your names/event printed, and a large free standing frame with wallpaper that can be customised to fit your colour scheme. You can then let your guess roam free and take as many silly snaps as they like. Moustache anyone?!
She also has a range of vintage china to hire, as well as funky centre pieces, table decorations and also a fabulous sweetie buffet. Kim also provides a wedding planning, styling and consultation service, visit her website for more details. We are looking to work together on a couple of things in the future and i'm really looking forward to it!

I also met Natalie who set up Purple Peacock Bespoke Handmade Stationery in April this year. Her work is stunning - especially the Alice in Wonderland themed set - invitations, RSVP cards (that look like playing cards) and placenames/table settings. You can see how each piece is so carefully designed and made. I wanted to take them all home and put them on my wall! There were pieces with button sewed into them, and 'Save the Date' cards complete with button magnets for your guests to place on their fridge... everything was so clearly thought out and made. She had a great time at Bridal Gathering and won the trophy for best exhibitor. It was so well deserved, her exhibition stand really jumped out to the guests attending. Instead of having the usual table with items laid out, her work was displayed rather like an art gallery. There were also invitations strung up with tiny wooden pegs and brown string. Loved it all.

I asked her some questions as I was curious to find out what inspired Natalie to set up in business and make such gorgeous stationery.

"When I was looking for my own wedding invitations there was nothing this side of the pond that really blew me away, I have all the resources at my fingertips through my lovely husband Graeme who owns and runs a printing company. I take my inspiration from anything I see that I think is just down right pretty and try and recreate that through my stationery. Every bride I see gives me new inspiration as each and every one of them are individual and that is how I make my stationery. "

Isn't that so lovely?!

Natalie is based in Penshaw, Tyne and Wear but provides nationwide coverage. Her website is here if you wish to know more!
