Sam & Sarah (Pre-wedding shoot at Marsden Grotto)

Sam & Sarah live in London, and are getting married at Ellingham Hall  this summer.

We met up on a fairly windy day at Marsden Grotto, and ventured onto Marsden Beach for their relaxed pre-wedding shoot.

I love pre-wedding shoots as it gives me an insight into what my couples are like together, what they enjoy doing and their personalities and interactions... I find it usually helps take away their nerves about being photographed on their wedding day and gives them an insight into how I work.

Sam & Sarah seemed at ease very quickly with lots of jumping around, and messing around on the beach. There were lots of giggles and I had a lot of fun with them. Really looking forward to their wedding!

Bamburgh Castle Pre Wedding Photoshoot (Kris & Scott)

Kristyne & Scott are getting married next Spring at the fabulous Matfen Hall. They were very keen to have their pre-wedding shoot up on Bamburgh beach, with the amazing Bamburgh Castle as a backdrop. The beach holds some special memories for the couple, and we managed to pick a great crisp late autumn day to go for the shoot, though it was very cold!!! It was so clear, that you could see right out to the Farne Islands (See photo below near the bottom right corner!).

 Being a big fan of the traditional Christmas jumper myself, I was over the moon when the couple turned up in co-ordinating Christmas jumpers! We then opted to have a bit of a Christmassy theme with some red colours, going alongside our beach shoot, sounds rather random but it all worked together!

I had so much fun with this couple and am very much looking forward to their big day, which is now just 6 months away!

Becca & Matt Winter Pre-wedding Photoshoot (Tynemouth)

Becca & Matt are getting married this May at St. Mary's Church in Ponteland, followed by their reception at the wonderful High House Farm Brewery, Near Matfen. They are planning a relaxed wedding with some bright colours, and I'm very excited about being part of their wedding day. 

For their pre-wedding photoshoot, the couple chose the fabulous seaside town of Tynemouth, about 20 minutes from Newcastle upon Tyne. Matt had proposed on Tynemouth beach when they were out for a walk (They are both into the outdoors, walking and cycling so this was a very fitting proposal!). We had planned to go onto the beach, but on the day, it was between 0-1 degree celsius and very windy, with patches of snow around (I sound like a weather girl now hehe!). The biting wind meant the beach would have been even colder, so we decided to go around the town instead. 

Becca had chosen a lovely wooly hat and some really cute panda gloves (I actually have panda gloves too but was worried i'd be laughed at... well I need not have worried on that part - Turns out we all own animal-related hats too!) 

We walked around the town, near Tynemouth Priory, then the market and metro stop.  As it was such a dull day weather wise, I looked for colour around the town to really brighten up the photographs, and I also had my trusty purple umbrella to not only shield the wind and occasional snow flurry, to also add a bit more colour...

The props are mine and the love heart shaped snowball was lovingly sculptured by Becca & Matt. 

Thank you so much to the lovely couple for braving the wind and freezing temperatures to have fun in front of the camera. 

We found the park nearby which still had a touch of snow left, and had some fun with snowballs and got creative for 'the ring shot'.  

We then popped into a lovely cafe for coffee and cake to warm up and chat over a few more wedding plans.

We all got on so well with lots of laughs, and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding!!

Marsden Grotto Beach Wedding Photoshoot Sneak Peeks

Well well well, I can't believe I haven't yet posted this up here yet but basically last month some amazing wedding suppliers got together to produce an amazing beach themed photoshoot. I started planning this shoot back in October 2011. My idea was to get some businesses working together to produce something fresh and different, a change from all the beautiful (but too often done) vintage chintz photoshoots with floral teacups...

And wow I was blown away by how many amazing suppliers we got together for the shoot.... and how creative they all were.

Chris and Victoria's Pre-Wedding Photoshoot At Souter Lighthouse

It was a hot and very sunny day when I met up with Victoria and Chris at Souter Lighthouse near Whitburn. They are getting married next month at The Little Haven Hotel near to South Shields which is a charming place with beautiful scenery surrounding. Souter Lighthouse is a rather special place to Victoria and Chris as they have taken many walks along the cliff tops there together, so when they suggested this location I was more than happy to grab the opportunity. I have also walked many times on the clifftops, it's a gorgeous location and I love the red and white stripy lighthouse.

 

Such a lovely day and really looking forward to their wedding next month!
