St Helens Low Fell & Ramside Hall Wedding Durham (Melissa & Graham)

Melissa & Graham planned their summer wedding for 30th August at St. Helens Church in Low Fell, followed by their reception at the very opulent ballroom at the Ramside Hall  near Durham.

Right from the start they were clear they wanted some fun & quirky photographs to capture the happiness of their day, without lots of posing, perfect!

The couple have been together for ten years, since they were in high school (aww!!) and have two children together, so this was a really special time for their family.

Kate from Sought After Photography, based in Northumberland assisted me at this wedding. We arrived to find a busy and excited household with lots going on. Maria and her collegue from ND Make Up were working their magic on the ladies. Melissa chose to have some dramatic make up with some fantastic lashes.... it suited her style perfectly!

 

Melissa was so bubbly and excited on the morning and couldn't wait to walk down the aisle. The couples son proudly walked down the aisle with a sign saying 'Daddy here comes your bride', so lovely.

Her gorgeous wedding dress came from Brides & Beauty , and the groom was kitted out from Gavin Scott Menswear. The bridesmaids wore coral coloured dresses, which was the colour theme for the day, I've never seen this before at a wedding and it was so lovely!!!

The flowers, which were absolutely stunning, and possibly the most interesting colour of roses i've ever seen (I am told they are called Miss Piggy Roses!). The florist from Dere Street Flowers has recently started doing weddings and also beautifully decorated the ballroom with very elegant centrepieces. The bouquets were all enormous and smelled amazing!

They chose two cars to transport them and the bridesmaids, from Rose Wedding Cars based in Durham.

The day was filled with lots of happiness and laughter, and after the wedding breakfast the speeches were hilarious. I couldn't help but giggle along.

In the evening the guests were treated to a BBQ outside, what a lovely idea for a summer wedding.

The ballroom, complete with chandeliers was the perfect location for dancing the night away, and I love that Ramside Hall have a balloon/confetti drop for the first dance!

It was a pleasure to be part of Melissa & Graham's wedding day, and I wish them and their family all the best for a long and happy future together.

Ramside Hall Durham Wedding Previews (Sarah & Selçuk)

Sarah & Selçuk got married at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Houghton-le-Spring near Durham, followed by their marquee reception at Ramside Hall Hotel. 

It was a scorching hot day by British standards : 27+ degrees at some points, and we all had to remember to apply suncream! A very excited Sarah and her Dad made their way to the church in a classic cream car from Campbell Wedding Car, to meet Selçuk. He was greeting guests along with Joe, the best man. After a traditional catholic mass, the happy couple exited the church and everyone made their way to the Ramside Hall Hotel for the reception, which was held in the summer marquee. 

Sarah's Mum Anne, had done amazingly well creating all the decor, flowers and stationery for the wedding. She told me she really enjoyed making things and was happy how everything had turned out. They chose teal green, pinks and purples for a vibrant colour scheme.

The sun was so strong all day with not a cloud in the sky, so we headed for the shade as much as possible for the group photographs, and then made the decision to have the majority of the bride & groom photographs just before the evening reception, as I had a feeling the light was going to be lovely, and I wasn't wrong!

Sarah's Dad and Sarah herself made very moving speeches at the end of the meal, the best man spotted me needing to wipe away some tears, for which I was ribbed for later on! 

The couple have been through the difficulty of a long distance relationship and it's not been the easiest road for them, so it was so lovely to see them so happy and together on their wedding day, it's clear how much in love these two are!!

Here is some of the beautiful light that we were lucky enough to be treated to in the evening!! We headed back out for some relaxed and fun portraits.... lovely! 

I just love the natural sunflare coming in through the trees on the above! 

Sarah & Selçuk had their first dance to the Paul James Band 's version of 'At Last', which was a lovely choice! Then guests were invited up to join the couple, and I've got more photographs to come with Joe &Selçuk cracking out some shapes on the dancefloor!

         Just to end, one of the children at the wedding wrote this message to the couple - So sweet!
