The Christening of Heidi-Louise

Back in November, I  had the pleasure of travelling back to my hometown of Huddersfield to photograph this lovely christening. Heidi's Mum & I were at the same school, and by co-incidence, the christening was not only at the same church that I was christened at:

a) It was the same vicar that conducted my ceremony when I was 5 months old
b) The girl who was christened at the same ceremony as mine was in attendance as a guest!
c) The lovely vicar, Phillip got out the huge christening register book and showed me the entry.

So it was even more of a special day!

There was a real Christmas feel in the church with several trees and decorations already in place. Beautiful hymns were sung and prayers were said.

Then the guests and family moved to the back to the font, where the baptism took place.

The family and Godparents then moved to the front of the church to say some final words and prayers, and Megan (the big sister) carried the candle.

We then took a few family photographs, which we did inside the church as Heidi was only 2 months old and it was rather cold outside!

We then moved to the White Hart Pub, in Denby Dale,  which is a lovely cosy village pub, for the celebrations to continue.

How gorgeous is this cake? I believe even the little bootie shoes were edible!

At the celebrations, I got the opportunity to take a few individual photographs of little Heidi, we sat her on a chair with a lovely knitted blanket and with lots of noises and smiling got these cute photographs of her. I love her eyes, so big and blue :-)

Congratulations to Heidi and her family for this special day, It was an honor to be part of it and capture it on camera.

Brides Up North blog also featured Rosie & Adie's Harrogate church wedding, and i've had word that a top national wedding magazine is going to be featuring one of the weddings I photographed last year!!

Sneaky peak - Intimate wedding with funky Newcastle/Gateshead quayside photographs!

It was a pleasure to photograph this wedding, the bride and groom are good friends of mine and had a very small wedding (3 guests & me!), and let me loose photographing their couple shots at the Gateshead Quayside. I absolutely love the diverse backgrounds the Quayside offers, from the sleek Millennium Bridge, to the rugged urban areas behind the Sage with walls of graffiti.

Lots more images to come from this one including us persuading the builders of the city games running circuit to let my bride & groom have a run along the track!

If you are looking for a wedding photographer please visit my website or join my Facebook page, and drop me a message, i'd be delighted to have a chat with you about your day!

Danielle & Scott's DIY farm wedding - As featured on Love My Dress!

I was delighted a few weeks ago when I got the news that Danielle & Scott's wedding at High House Farm Brewery was going to be featured on the very widely read and much-loved blog Love My Dress.

Their beautiful DIY farm wedding was on 25th June 2011 and featured lots of funky vintage inspired details from The Fine and Funky Events Company, as well as some homemade items from the bride herself. I thoroughly enjoyed shooting this wedding. For more details and to hear from Danielle the Bride, visit the feature on Love My Dress.  Annabel, of Love My Dress has written a wonderful write-up, and there is also lots more wedding inspiration on there!

Here are some of my favourite images from the day:

Many congratulations to Danielle & Scott on their marriage and on their beautiful wedding!
