Chris & Lisa (Gibside Pre-wedding shoot)

Chris & Lisa are getting married in July in a humanist wedding ceremony at Gibside Estate, near Rowlands Gill.

I met up with them to run through their plans and also see the grounds and wedding locations, and we took some relaxed photographs as part of our walk around.

Their wedding day is going to be very relaxed and I can't wait to be part of it!

Phil & Carrie (Tynemouth Pre-wedding shoot)

Phil & Carrie are getting married in July at High House Farm Brewery. We met up at Tynemouth beach for their relaxed pre-wedding shoot, and their little boy joined in the fun. 

Carrie brought along a huge pink balloon to add some more colour to the shoot.

Sandra & Beth (North Yorkshire Pre-wedding shoot)

Sandra & Beth are getting married in June 2014 at Gisborough Hall in North Yorkshire.

They chose to have their pre-wedding shoot in the fields around their friend's house, on a very hot day in April. We had so many giggles on this shoot, and even ventured into a yellow rapeseed field for some shots with Roseberry Topping in the background.

I'm really looking forward to shooting their wedding soon and seeing them become Mrs & Mrs!

Sam & Sarah (Pre-wedding shoot at Marsden Grotto)

Sam & Sarah live in London, and are getting married at Ellingham Hall  this summer.

We met up on a fairly windy day at Marsden Grotto, and ventured onto Marsden Beach for their relaxed pre-wedding shoot.

I love pre-wedding shoots as it gives me an insight into what my couples are like together, what they enjoy doing and their personalities and interactions... I find it usually helps take away their nerves about being photographed on their wedding day and gives them an insight into how I work.

Sam & Sarah seemed at ease very quickly with lots of jumping around, and messing around on the beach. There were lots of giggles and I had a lot of fun with them. Really looking forward to their wedding!

Baby Rory (Newborn lifestyle photoshoot)

Back in October 2012, I photography Katy & Tony's wedding in Rothbury, with their reception at Langley Castle. We stayed in touch and I was thrilled when they shared the news they were expecting! A strange co-incidence that I bumped into them in a shopping centre on the very same day they'd just been for the 12 week scan. Katy told me she was bursting to tell me before and was going to message me later that day!! So nice to congratulate them in person and give them a hug :-)

I met up with them about three weeks before baby Rory arrived, for a woodland maternity shoot (See here). I then got a text one night announcing that Katy was getting ready to go to hospital as Rory was on the way!! Two whole days later, he arrived (two very tired parents to welcome him into the world!) and then at 5 days old, I visited the three of them at their home to take some relaxed family portraits.

Here are a few highlights from the shoot (The ones featuring Mummy & Daddy have been kept private on request) Just look at those tiny fingers and toes!!!

A quirky wedding at the Great North Museum: Hancock (Nichola & Ciaran)

Well, what a quirky and unique wedding this was!

Nichola & Ciaran flew in from Australia to get married in Nichola's hometown of Newcastle upon Tyne. The couple met in Sydney whilst Nichola was backpacking over there. Ciaran, who grew up in Australia, has a huge love of Liverpool United, which featured in the wedding details, he also wore LFC socks and cufflinks.

Ciaran & his groomsmen got ready at the Vermont Hotel in Newcastle. Victoria from Whiteleaf Photography was my second shooter for this wedding and she captured the grooms preparations. 

They chose a late afternoon ceremony, taking place just as the museum was closing to the public for the day. They chose a bright orange colour theme for their flowers, and the bridesmaid dresses from Ted Baker were rather unusual.

The Great North Museum (Hancock Museum) is a unique museum in the centre of Newcastle. It is very much focused on natural history, such as the Living Planet exhibition, and a lifesize t-rex, as well as local exhibits on Hadrian's Wall.

Nichola's Mum & Nana walked her down the aisle and the ceremony was quite emotional with a few tears and lots of hugs and smiles.

After the ceremony everyone made their way outside for some group shots on the steps, followed by some bride & groom photos with the t-rex and other museum exhibits - so much fun!!!

The couple chose a Liverpool United theme for their table names and plan and very personal favours.  A stubby holder (beer holder - very popular in Australia! ) with a can of beer in. The stubby holder was personalised with the couples names and wedding date, maps of the UK & Australia and 'To have and to hold, and to keep your beer cold' - very cute and quirky! Love it!
