I first met Lynne & Ian just a few months ago and we hit it off straight away. I was thrilled when they booked me to cover their wedding at the amazing Alnwick Treehouse Restaurant towards the end of May.
They planned a laid back day and were clear they wanted lots of relaxed and fun photographs - perfect.
They were reading this very blog where they discovered the Buick Special American vintage car above - from Valley Retro. and managed to book it for their wedding.
The couple chose to get ready at The Plough, Alnwick just round the corner. It has recently been refurbished and the rooms were lovely and full of character.
The bride found her Diane Harbridge gown at YAP Bridal Boutique in Newcastle.
She chose Jenny Packham shoes to compliment her dress.
The florist was Lavenders Blue in Morpeth . They chose rustic bouquets of gyp & daisies and tulips. The florist, Christine made amazing button holes featuring herbs and also check out the amazing floral table plan set up further down the post.
The couple got married in the restaurant, under an arch of twinkly lights. The flowers and lanterns made an aisle and it looked beautiful.
The ceremony was short and sweet which is what the couple wanted, and afterwards they had cocktails, corona and canapes for their guests, around The Potting Shed in the sunshine.
When we met up to run through their wedding plans, Ian & Lynne told me they particularly loved the rope bridges at The Treehouse and wanted to incorporate them into their couples photographs. I bet they didn't expect me to jump up and down on them to make them laugh!
The speeches were perfect - heartfelt, emotional and funny.
The couple made sure the children were well entertained, with a 'kids room' in The Roost, complete with activity sheets, a Wii, arcade games and sweeties. The children had to take shifts to stop the 'big kids' getting in! Hehe.
They booked singer Hattie Murdoch after seeing her at The Botanist bar in Newcastle. Hattie was great and performed acoustic music during the ceremony, drinks reception and evening do.
I had so much fun photographing Ian & Lynne's wedding day and they made me so very welcome.
They chose to have their honeymoon recreating a holiday they had few years ago, driving around Spain - sounds fab!
Congratulations again to Ian & Lynne and I wish you all the very best for a long and happy marriage.
