I met Sue back in August as she is a wedding florist and did some amazing bouquets for Amy & Thea's wedding. She runs The Cosmic Flower Shop. She got in touch a few weeks ago to ask me if I'd be available on a Friday morning in July. It all seemed very mysterious but once we'd established I could be available that morning, she let me in on the secret that her and her partner, Flemming had decided to get married after almost eleven years together.
"We will be popping down to Newcastle civic centre in our jeans" she said, and assured me that her and Flemming would have a fabulous bouquet and button hole, of course!
Sarah Stonehouse, from F.A.C.E Make up Artistry did Sue's make up on the morning, it looked beautiful and stayed perfectly intact through lots of happy tears!
I was thrilled that Sue & Flemming asked me to document their secret elopement and when I met them outside of the civic centre they were buzzing with excitement and nerves.
Their friends, Mark & Jo were there to witness their ceremony.
Afterwards we took a few photographs in a patch of wildflowers I'd spotted, growing by the bus stop, as if someone had put them there just for this very special wedding of two florists!
Mark surprised the happy couple by organising them some music to be played during their entrance and ceremony, and this moved Sue to tears when she came in. The whole ceremony was very moving, especially the vows!
A huge congratulations to Sue & Flemming on their marriage, wishing you all the best for the future. Thank you so much for having me as your photographer!
